Journal of Social Science Education: Special Edition
On special occasions the editors publish a "JSSE - Special Edition". A "Special Edition" may be produced, for example, on occasion of current events like "European Year of Citizenship Education 2005" or in order to grant public space within the Journal of Social Science Education to main actors and activities in the field of civic education, citizenship, human rights, social and economic education. They are given a chance to present and discuss their approaches and experience.
This allows to broaden the scope of the JSSE and to include more political, practical and pragmatic aspects and more contributions on current affairs without abandoning the highly demanding criteria applied for papers to be published in regular issues of the JSSE.
Hence, for a "Special Edition" special editorial rules are applied. The peer review is done by the JSSE editor who is in charge of the Special Issue and by at least one expert of the respective topic who is not an editor; the anonymous form of peer review is suspended.
"JSSE - Special Editions" prefer short papers. Submissions are only accepted if they do not contain more than 25.000 characters with spaces (about 22.000 characters, spaces not counted).
Papers and suggestions for topics and authors should be sent by e-mail to info@jsse.org or to the editor Prof. Dr. Reinhold Hedtke, Bielefeld University, reinhold.hedtke@uni-bielefeld.de
