Journal of Social Science Education (JSSE) in cooperation with the
Association of Economics Education in Europe (AEEE)    aeee

 

Issue 1/2013

  

The 19th conference of the Association of Economics Education in Europe from 27th to 30th of August 2012  in Köln/Bonn/Bad Honnef Germany is dedicated to the topic "Economic Crisis Catastrophe or Opportunity?" Scholars and practitioners from the fields of economics, business, social science education and educational science are invited to present and discuss their conceptions, findings and experiences across disciplines as well in the conference and in the Journal of Social Science Education. Submissions for lectures on the conference and papers for the journal are welcome on the following and similar topics:

 

Economic Crisis – Catastrophe or Opportunity?

-                      The economic crisis from an economic education, an economist’s or a business viewpoint

-                      The economic crisis and financial or consumer education

-                      Empirical and theoretical considerations concerning student knowledge of the economic crisis

-                      Reports and experiences from teaching about the economic crisis

 

Economics Education in Europe – Findings, Foundation and innovations in Economic Education

-                      New findings and concepts in economics and business with relevance for economics education

-                      Theoretical foundations of economics education

-                      Comparative analysis of economics education in the European Union

 

Economic Education and EU Policy

-                      Economics education and education policy

-                      EU policy as a topic in economics education

 

Case Studies, Good practice, country reports of Economic Education

-                      Methodological innovations in economics education

-                      Best practice examples in economics education

-                      Contributions to enhance European cooperation in economics education

 

The deadline for the submission of abstracts for the conference (maximum one page, preferably Word file) is February 20th,  2012 by email to: Prof. Dr. Birgit Weber, University of Cologne, Social sciences with a focus on economic education at the faculty of human sciences, birgit.weber@uni-koeln.de

The deadline for the submission of papers for the Journal is October 1st 2012.  After an anonymous review procedure the papers should be published in the special issue “Crisis and Economic Education of the Journal of Social Science Education (JSSE) http://www.jsse.org/. The contributions presenting economic and business education in different countries as good practise, case studies or country reports are highly welcome for the rubrics without the anonymous review process, if they are interesting and understandable for an international audience.

The special issue will be edited by Jürgen Schlösser and Birgit Weber. Papers for the Journal should not exceed 12-15 pages (max. 70.000 signs, blanks incl.).
